Curtis Jones & The Mountain Gypsy Project

Curtis Jones (guitar & mandolin), Martin Norgaard (violin), Steve Mays (bass) and Dobbin Buck (percussion) played the main pavilion during the Bear on the Square festival on April 18th, 2010. The sound was incredible, these guys are fantastic musicians. Categorizing their music is impossible. There are so many different influences: jazz, blue grass, fusion, Spanish classical and the list goes on and on.

Virtuosos all, they are all so talented and you have to listen to their sound to appreciate their musicianship and the level of talent these guys have. In the interest of full disclosure, all the music on my websites are original compositions by Curtis and back in late January of this year Curtis asked me to be his exclusive photographer; of course, honored, I accepted.

Here are some shots of the guys at the main pavilion at the 2010 Bear on the Square festival. I will be adding more images over the next few days, so check back.

Amber & Josh Video Slideshow

This is a short video from Animoto of Josh & Amber's engagement session. I wanted to get something posted to capture the flavor of their shoot. Almost all the images are pretty much right out of the camera and more than a few are in need of color correction and need final post processing, but be that as it may, here is a fun little video of a great couple.

Amber and Josh are getting married at the end of May and I cannot wait to be there with my team to capture their wedding. I also cannot wait to meet Amber's parents; her father, Louie, and I have had several interesting conversations over the phone and I feel like I have met a brother from a different mother.

This is a high resolution video, albeit at a reduced size for the blog post. Depending on your Internet connection speed you have a couple of options. First, you can choose to view the video at lower resolution, the quality will be diminished, but the experience will be less intolerable. However, if you have a broadband connection, my recommendation is to hit play, let it sputter a little as it streams (or attempts to stream is a better characterization) all the way through as you take the opportunity to do something you need to do, finding a cure for the common cold comes to mind. Then, once it has run all the way through, you can hit play with confidence that the video will run without annoying interruption and you'll have provided the world with much needed relief from that even more annoying common cold. So on behalf of the planet, even if a bit premature, thank you, thank you for saving us from those annoying common cold side effects; I guess you drug companies can find something else to work on.
